A Lampeter firefighter has retired from duty after 31 years of service.
Kevin James joined the fire brigade in 1990 as a retained fire fighter with the former Dyfed Fire Brigade until it changed to Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
During his 31 year service he worked for a few years as a community safety officer, with his work including visiting schools, attending local fetes and shows in the area.
Kevin is one of three generations that have been involved with Lampeter Fire Station.
His father, grandfather and grandmother were also retained at the station.
Kevin said he had “enjoyed the time he has spent with the brigade”, but said he will “miss the crew and their banter.”
Kevin also encouraged anyone with interest to join the fire service to get in touch with their local fire station.
