A DUO from Llandysul who met and bonded over drain rods and a septic tank have recorded and released their first album.

Alan Jenkins, 67, and Pete Garrard, 64, met in retirement and formed the duo, Jenard.

Forever My Love, their debut album which contains 14 original songs, is something neither of Alan or Peter expected to make.

“Jenard formed when Pete and I met after moving to Llandysul,” Alan explained.

“When we retired to this beautiful part of west Wales, we didn’t expect to spend our time writing and performing our own songs, and never in our wildest dreams to record our own album.”

The album is a mixture of country folk and country pop and follows a successful three-track EP CD which gained a lot of support both in the local area and online where the duo’s YouTube video had many hits.

“The video uses our dogs, Bruiser and Otis as the central characters for the song We’ll Sail Away,” said Alan. The video can be found under a search of Jenard and We’ll Sail Away.

Alan was born in Aberystwyth but spent most of his working life in England.

“I lived in Bow Street up to the age of 16 before starting as an engineer in Birmingham,” said Alan.
