Ceredigion thankfully has a low incidence of Covid-19. I find it difficult to understand why all local facilities for sports and fitness have been closed. With the winter months and adverse weather conditions approaching, facilities for keeping fit become more and more important. It is well documented that fitness is all important should one unfortunately contract the virus, especially for the elderly.

As a 76-year-old carer with three joint replacements, swimming several times per week has been all important for my physical fitness and mental wellbeing. Can the county council suggest suitable replacement facilities? Must I travel to Welshpool on public transport for at least an occasional swim? Will they provide the extra care for my 83-year-old husband with dementia for such a long expedition? I pray I will soon at least be able to use the university pool again for which I have recently renewed my membership. The respite and exercise is much needed.
