The people of Pwllheli were taken by surprise on Tuesday afternoon when the town was hit by torrential rain.

Motorists found themselves driving through waterlogged roads as thunder, lightning and heavy rain battered the town.

The shocking weather was in stark contrast to the hot weather enjoyed recently.

Photographer Dewi Wyn described the weather as “one mighty storm”.

The downpour hit at 1pm on Tuesday.
