A FLOOD alert has been issued today (Saturday) for the Ceredigion coast.
Natural Resources Wales has issued the alert - meaning ’flooding is possible, be prepared’ for the coast between Clarach and Cardigan over the weekend. This is the lowest of three possible warnings. After flood alert comes flood warning, then severe flood warning.
Natural Resources Wales said: "High tides are predicted over the weekend, based on a combination of high astronomical tides and the prevailing weather conditions. The largest impact is expected on Sunday morning, 18 October, and continue until Monday evening 19 October.
"The winds are forecast to be force 4 and from a West South Westerly direction. Minor coastal flooding impacts are possible, low-lying land and roads might be affected first.
"Potential for local flooding impacts in prone locations throughout the weekend and into Monday.
"Be careful on beaches, promenades, footpaths and beaches. This is due to the high spring tides."
