Dolgellau is bursting into bloom in time for the summer months as vibrant flower displays have appeared throughout the town.
A series of seasonal flower displays have been planted and arranged by students and staff at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor to make the town a more colourful place.
Independent Living Skills (ILS) and Pre Vocational students joined together with staff at the college’s gardening department to plant and carefully nurture the flowers in the winter months.
The displays were organised by town councillor Linda Morgan, who expressed her thanks and pride towards the gardeners.
Cllr Morgan said: “It is great news that the students are actively involved in contributing to improving the community and bringing some colour to the town with their tubs and baskets. I am hoping that their example will be an inspiration to other young people and local businesses to take part and help care for their local environment especially here in Dolgellau town centre.
“We are thankful to all the ILS and Pre Vocational students and the staff for their hard work in preparation for the flowers to be planted in eight flower containers in the town.”
She extended a special thanks to the ‘A Team’ – Dylan Jones, ILS gardening course tutor; Gabrijela Racic who is learning English at the college; and Tom Springle, assistant at the gardening department, who did the planting on the day.
