A SPORTING superstar has fulfilled a “lifelong ambition” in Harlech by scoring a hole-in-one.

Michael Owen, one of only four footballers playing for England to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or, made the once-in-a-lifetime shot on the 18th hole of Royal St David’s Golf Course last Tuesday.

“Can’t believe it. I’ve just had my first ever hole-in-one! 201 yards off the back tee on the 18th at Harlech,” the former Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City player tweeted.

“Age 37 and a half and my very first one! Lifelong ambition.”
