A Bala Town midfielder has been given the all-clear after his six-month battle with cancer.

Daniel Gosset, who joined Bala Town in 2018, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August 2019 but is now in full remission, he announced this week.

Going forward, Daniel will receive radiotherapy treatment and focus on the recovery to his damaged femur.

A spokesperson for Bala Town football club said: “Everyone at the club is delighted to hear Danny’s wonderful news and it is no surprise at all to see him beat his cancer battle. His attitude and positive outlook since his diagnosis has been unbelievable and we couldn’t be happier that he is now a step closer to getting back out on that pitch in a Bala Town shirt.”

Announcing the news on Twitter, Daniel said: “Me and my family are truly blessed and so thankful for everything.

“I appreciate every single one of you who have reached out and supported us through this journey.

“Looking forward to getting off these crutches soon for the first time in six months. Hopefully I can now move on with some normality.”
