HISTORY lovers can profit from a free paned in an award-winning museum this weekend.
Tomorrow, 8 December, the museum is offering a free cup of tea or coffee to National Lottery players that purchases a ticket to visit Yr Ysgwrn’s historic farmhouse.
The museum is one of hundreds of participating National Lottery-funded visitor attractions across the UK saying ‘thanks’ to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket.
The idea is simple: any visitor who presents a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard will receive a free cup of tea or coffee when purchasing a ticket to visit the farmhouse.
Yr Ysgwrn has received £3.1mn from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The money has funded the redevelopment of the site to present Hedd Wyn’s story and associated themes to future generations.
Ros Kerslake, chief executive of the Heritage Lottery Fund, said: “December is a wonderful time to experience the UK’s rich, diverse and exciting heritage, which has been transformed by more than £7.8bn National Lottery funding since 1994.
“This is a small gesture of thanks and a way of giving something back to the people who buy tickets.”
