Madam,

This letter is an urgent appeal to young male drivers to please slow down and not take stupid risks endangering the lives of others.

On Thursday afternoon (4 August), just before 6pm a slim man of between 18 and 25, driving a light blue Ford Fiesta, decided to overtake three cars on the road between Devil’s Bridge and Pisgah. Consequently he very nearly had a head-on collision with my daughter, her friend and their two small children who were travelling in a car towards him.

Luckily there was no car behind them as my daughter’s friend had to slam on the brakes to avoid what would have been an horrific accident. He hadn’t seen their car as it had been hidden by a dip in the road. They have been left badly shaken up by such a near-miss and I hope the young man received enough of a scare to prevent him from driving so recklessly in the future.

Yours etc,

Nikky Govier,

Tremafon,
