On Saturday, 9 September, volunteers from Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team met up with local supporters Hillary, Alison (pictured) and Cameron of Caffi’r Ceunant in Abergynolwyn who have been busy over the summer holidays foraging in local farmland and woods in order to collect and sell mushrooms in aid of the team.

Team fundraising officer Ian Pilcher said: “When it comes to quirky fund-raising ideas there’s not mushroom for improvement, and this fantastic fungus finding feat resulted in an impressive £220 donation. At £1 per punnet, that’s a lot of mushrooms!

“Thanks are due to the local farmers and campsites in Abergynolwyn, Llanegryn and Bryncrug for giving access to their land and making this possible.”
