A FUN run in Porthmadog attracted more than 30 runners on Saturday.
Fancy dress was optional for the 2km run in which participants were encouraged to catch the Grinch.
The event took place on the same day as the town’s Christmas lights event, organised by Caru Port.
Caru Port organised the event, which also celebrated the beginning of the Christmas market.
The small group of volunteers arrange the Christmas lights every year with financial support from local businesses and trusts.
Entertainer Richard Viner was also present and dressed as a pirate, ready to provide entertainment for the children present.
The Teletubbies, Olaf from Frozen, Sali Mali and Mary Poppins also attended the event, thanks to the dedicated Caru Port committee who dressed up as various characters.
Cllr Nia Jeffreys, chair of Caru Port, told the Cambrian News: “The lights switch-on is a highlight in the community’s calendar – and a great opportunity for young and old to get together to look forward to Christmas.
“We were especially pleased to welcome Father Christmas and Mary Poppins to Porthmadog this year to turn on our lights.
“There are fabulous shops on Porthmadog High Street – shopping local is not only great fun, it also puts money back into our community.
“I urge everyone to put their money where their heart is and spend local this Christmas.”
