Over £12,000 has been raised for a Borth family, who are “holding together amazingly” after their family home was destroyed in a blaze.

A fire broke out at the home of the Jarvis family at around 3.30pm on Friday, 3 September.

Fire crews from across Mid and West Wales and North Wales Fire Services were on the scene tackling the blaze, which destroyed everything and sadly killed a family dog.

High Street, in Borth, was blocked off to cars by emergency services and people were asked to avoid the area.

In the aftermath, family friend Kat Sankey set up a fundraising page to “give them some hope of rebuilding their lives again”.

The fundraising effort managed to raise £12,266 for the family.

“The fundraiser went well and the family have the money now,” Kat said, “they are holding together amazingly and staying positive as much as they can.”
