THE future of Hinterland is up in the air.
As filming for the third series of Hinterland/Y Gwyll comes to a close, the cast and crew of the hit TV series seem to be getting ready to say goodbye to the show - and Ceredigion - for the foreseeable future.
Co-creator Ed Talfan said this series would tie up loose ends and, if the show was to return, it would have to have a different storyline.
“Is this the end?” he said. “No... but the show will not continue in the same way.
“By the end of this, we will have made 13 episodes in three series. To make episode 14 we’d need another story arc so the first thing we’re all going to do is have a break, have a holiday and then... we’ll see.
“I would be sad if it didn’t come back in some form.”
Richard Harrington, who plays DCI Mathias, said he was looking forward to the break but would miss the show and his bandmates.
Some of the cast and crew have formed Hinterband.
