Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor student Gerallt Jones will compete in the Construction & Infrastructure sector at the WorldSkills UK Live, the largest event in the UK for skills, apprenticeships and careers on 21 to 23 November.

Gerallt Jones from Tywyn studies a Diploma L3 Bench Joinery at Dolgellau Campus’ Construction & Engineering department (CAMDA). He’s looking forward to representing the college at the event in November and to improving in his chosen skill.

He said: “It’s such a huge event, I’m really excited to compete this year. I have been working really hard at college and this is a great opportunity for me to raise my skillset to the next level.”

Programme Area Manager, Mike Taylor, said: “We are a determined department, driven by the successes of our students in events such as these. These competitions are a fantastic way for us to give the students targets and initiatives and they provide very positive experiences for our students to take with them on their personal development journey.”
