A COMMUNITY clean-up led by a band of environmentally conscious youngsters has taken place in Dolgellau.
Around 20 Girl Guides and their leaders organised a litter pick at the weekend and were joined by numerous community leaders.
Working with Gwynedd councillors, Linda Morgan and Dyfrig Siencyn, girls from Dolgellau Girlguiding groups worked as one to sweep Dolgellau Park, grass verges and the Marian free of litter (see picture above right).
“Teaching youngsters from a young age, how important it is to work voluntarily to support community activities, is very important,” said Cllr Morgan, a Girlguiding ambassador for Meirionnydd.
“There is a great feeling of team spirit involved with Brownies, Rainbows and Girl Guides, and here in Dolgellau, the community is a caring and supportive one, keen to ensure that the environment we live in is kept clean and tidy.”
