A GOLF club captain has raised £2,700 by holding a fundraising event to support British Heart Foundation Cymru.

Donald Lloyd, captain of Penrhos Golf Club in Llanrhystud, held a golf day which saw members, friends and family come together to help raise £1,700.

This total was then topped up by Barclays Bank, who donated £1,000.

Donald organised the event in aid of BHF because his mother is a heart patient and an active member of the Bronant Fundraising Group.

Donald said: “The golfing event was a great success and I am so pleased with the amount we have raised!

“I would like to thank members at Penrhos Golf Club, also friends and family for all their support and contribution on the presentation evening so the BHF can fund even more research.”

Heart and circulatory disease causes more than a quarter of all deaths in Wales. Thanks to the public’s generosity, BHF Cymru is funding research central to discovering vital treatments for people living with these conditions.
