OVER £1,000 has been given to a heart charity thanks to local golfers.

Stephen Evans, outgoing captain of Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club presented Glan Davies, Calonnau Cymru/Welsh Hearts with a cheque for £1,042 from proceeds of events organised by the captain in his year in office.

Welsh Hearts was nominated as his chosen charity.
