More than a dozen colleagues from the Co-op and the community took part in a spring clean around Dolgellau to pick up and remove unsightly litter.

The clean sweep of Dolgellau saw 15 sacks of rubbish removed, with litter pickers visiting the children’s park, sports field, leisure centre car park, the estuary, and around the town.

Henrietta Davies-Dunn, Co-op member pioneer, organised the litter-pick, and said: “We had a great response from volunteers and members of the community.

“Connecting communities and bringing people together is at the heart of the Co-op, it is incredible what can be achieved when we all work together.

“And, 15 sacks of unsightly litter removed has benefitted the area for residents, visitors and, animals and marine life alike.

“I have already been asked to organise a follow up litter-pick later in the year, it is great for both the environment and community spirit.”
