A MACHYNLLETH man has won an award for having the best-kept council house garden in Montgomeryshire. Euros Lewis (pictured) picked up the award for the second year in a row.

Also picking up a prize is Glyn Morgan, of Llanidloes, who has won the prize for best vegetable garden in Powys. Mr Morgan also won an award for the best vegetable garden in Montgomeryshire for the fifth year in a row.

altMr Morgan, who was awarded a shield, two crystal vases, a framed certificate, and a cheque for his efforts, said he was “over the moon” with the double win.

He added: “I used to go to the Royal Welsh Show to show runner beans, but my wife has been ill.

“I had an allotment but had to give that up, and so I do a bit of judging now.”
