AN Aberystwyth group which brings together younger and older generations was praised at the Senedd in Cardiff last week.
The Clwb Ni group is made up of Year 6 pupils from Ysgol Plascrug and residents from two Tai Ceredigion sheltered housing projects in Aberystwyth.
The club was the very first of its kind to be established in Wales. Members meet regularly to learn from one another, share experiences and have fun participating in a range of activities.
Both the Children’s Commissioner, Sally Holland, and the Older Person’s Commissioner, Sarah Rochira, met the group at the Senedd to hear more about what the children and older people gain from the club activities. The session was hosted by Elin Jones AM.
Ms Rochira and Ms Holland said: “Clubs like Clwb Ni break down barriers and stereotypes and allow older and younger generations to contribute positively in their local communities as active citizens.”
