GIRL guides in Dolgellau have put their skills to good work on a project aimed at helping women who have undergone breast surgery.
Earlier this year, the Dolgellau guides offered their help to add to the supply of free Heart Pillows that the Mawddach Rotary Club give to women who have undergone breast or chest surgery.
These pillows can be really useful in alleviating the discomfort women have whilst recovering from their operations.
At their recent weekly meeting the Guides (of the 1st Dolgellau Guides group) exhibited the individual pillows they had made and then presented all of them to the Rotary club for distribution to local women that had need of them following invasive surgery.
The Rotarians that had been instrumental in starting this project and in making the pillows thanked all the girls for their efforts and complimented them on their skills.
Rotarian Hilary Nurse, a former Midwife at Dolgellau hospital, added that as Guides, they should be very proud of the fact that their efforts would be of great comfort to people that they didn’t even know.
