A MORFA Bychan woman has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Gwynneth Wells celebrated her landmark birthday recuperating in Ysbyty Alltwen following a fall but was joined by her family, including two children, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and neighbours to mark the occasion.

Mrs Wells was born in South Wales but moved to London during her early teenage years. She later returned to Wales after retirement and settled in Morfa Bychan.

She and her family would like to thank the many well-wishers, the staff at Ysbyty Alltwen and the Contact the Elderly voluntary group.
