Madam,

Following on from the delightful pictures printed in the Cambrian News 19 May) of St Padarn’s playgroup 40th birthday celebrations, I would like to add that there was also much more to see at the playgroup.

Present on the day were staff who had worked at the playgroup 40 years ago and had returned to Aberystwyth for this occasion. They were all very interested to see present manager Eleri Barker’s improvements to the group facilities. The outdoor play area now has large climbing equipment, a digging area, a willow den as well as a growing area. The indoor playroom has had the very essential addition of an office area.Children’s work was on display along with photos from the past which brought back many memories for us “oldies”.

The whole day was a wonderful happy celebration for all who attended both young and old, and I would like to thank St Padarn’s Playgroup Committee for organizing all the varied activities which included something for everyone. All the best for the next 40 years as the group moves on from strength to strength.
