At last things are looking up for me. I’ve had an appointment with my local surgery to receive a B12 injection, and other tests, feet attended to, and an appointment with the opticians, alas no hospital attendance for my aching back and troublesome knees. Having a fall bashing my head didn’t help.

Dental service is a let-down. It’s always been National Health but that’s finished, and it’s strictly private now.

The TV licence for over-75s just when we need it has been withdrawn for many of us senior citizens.

England brought in a law that anyone with Covid to isolate themselves for 14 days or face a fine of £1,000 rising to £10,000 for a repeat offence. If anyone cannot pay in these desperate times what will happen to them? Maskwearing bailiffs or police to arrest them and off to prison? At least there will be a prison doctor who will attend to your other medical problems.

Let’s face it, you cannot fight fire with fire, you cure one thing but create many other problems. Blow up the devil and you are left with thousands of little devils. In the 15th century there was bubonic plague and black death running together and no medicine to control it like today, it wiped out a third of the population before it ran its course – it’s the only predator that can attack the human race because we can’t all see, smell or taste it.

Strange as a species we kill all other species without compunction for food and pleasure, even taking land from all creatures for our own benefit and without care, yet when something does the same to us we consider it evil. We will have to live with it until it’s run its course of taking from us, it’s called equilibrium of species, like it or not.

There is only one Earth in our universe and we should look after it. Myself, I only have one fear above Covid and that is a police state and we are heading towards it in the name of pandemic.
