An Aberystwyth photographer is completing 100 miles in a month, on her mobility scooter, to raise funds for Gorwelion.
Rose Voon, 37, said she “wouldn’t be here today” without the mental health services and support offered by Gorwelion, a community mental health centre in Aberystwyth.
Rose has now decided to travel 100 miles on her mobility scooter during the month of October to raise funds for the vital service. The local photographer, who covers local news, storms, starlings, sunrises and sunsets in Aberystwyth on TV, social media and in local papers, is hoping to raise £500.
“No one should have to suffer alone,” Rose said.
“I have overcome self harm and suicidal thoughts when I’ve been abused, raped, and severely depressed. I have autism, fibromyalgia, PTSD, and asthma. Without mental health services and support in Aberystwyth, I wouldn’t be here today. I only have my right arm working as both my legs don’t work and my left neck had a bad cancer operation so I can’t use my left arm fully.
“I am doing 100 miles on my mobility scooter to raise money for Gorwelion.
“We all bleed the same blood, let’s stop judging and help each other.”
