A SIX-YEAR-OLD Pen Llyn schoolgirl with a brain tumour is preparing to fly to the USA to begin her pioneering treatment.

Evie Hughes has spent the last few months battling a tumour which was discovered during her first visit to the opticians.

The optician also found out that the tumour meant Evie was permanently blind in her left eye.

Despite facing life-saving surgery just a few weeks ago, the Ysgol Morfa Nefyn pupil will now travel to Jacksonville, Florida for pioneering proton therapy treatment.
