ST David’s Day saw the launch of new Welsh language stickers and certificates for youngsters visiting health services across the Hywel Dda area.
As part of the health board’s St David’s Day celebrations, the new Welsh language merchandise was launched including stickers to show that youngsters had been brave, as well as colouring sheets.
Enfys Williams, the Welsh language services manager for the health board, said staff had identified the lack of Welsh language items for youngsters as an issue.
She said: “Many of our staff have told us that there was a lack of Welsh-medium items to give to children who visit their services. Therefore the health board has designed and created new products for distribution.
“Our health workers in practices and on the wards will see many children on a daily basis and many of them are Welsh first-language. They often give them stickers or certificates to reward them for being so brave. However, these are currently only available in English.
“We very much hope that the stickers and certificates will be popular and healthcare professionals across the three counties are delighted to reward children in a language familiar to them.”
