THREE Bronglais Hospital staff members were honoured at the Royal College of Nursing Wales Nurse of the Year awards.
Linzi Shone, Dr Helen Tench and Sarah Jones were part of a successful night for staff from Hywel Dda after nursing staff from the health board area scooped three awards and were runners up in two other categories.
Hywel Dda Health Board chair Bernardine Rees paid tribute to the board’s staff and hailed the success of staff members in the Nurse of the Year awards.
She said: “I am incredibly proud of the work our nursing team do every day for our patients and for them to be rewarded at a prestigious national awards ceremony is fantastic.
“The work that Jane, Linzi, Jacqueline, Margaret, Sarah and Helen have done over the years has made an incalculable difference to the health and wellbeing of their patients and I hope their success becomes an inspiration for all our nurses.”
Senior ward sister Linzi scooped the award for best registered adult nurse after the award panel praised her leadership qualities on the Ystwyth stroke ward.
