An online meeting will take place next week for the public to have their say on the future of nursing care at Penrhos Polish Home.
MP Liz Saville Roberts will take part in the virtual meeting next Tuesday, 8 September, as pressure mounts on the health board to keep nursing beds local.
Constituents concerned about the future of nursing beds at Penrhos Polish Home, Pwllheli and the wider provision of nursing care in Pen Llyn are invited to take part.
The meeting will be chaired by health campaigner and chair of the North Wales Health Alliance, Cllr Mabon ap Gwynfor.
Speakers include Mrs Saville Roberts, Cllr Angela Russell, Dwyfor Cluster GP leader Dr Eilir Hughes and a representative from Clwyd Alyn Housing Association.
The meeting will be held via webinar at 7pm, and those interested in taking part are invited to submit their questions in advance to [email protected]
Participants will be able to ask questions via chat during the meeting.
Mrs Saville Roberts said: “Community leaders have been in agreement from the outset that the people of Llyn urgently need to know what the future holds for nursing beds at Penrhos and how the health board will maintain nursing care in the immediate area.
“This is an opportunity to have a public discussion about the specific needs of elderly and vulnerable residents and their families.
“I encourage anyone who wishes to put their views on record to submit their questions in advance by emailing me at [email protected]
“Before any final plan is drawn up, Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board should be aware of the overwhelming public support for protecting nursing beds at the Polish Home and the need to maintain and improve local nursing provision in Pen Llyn.”
