CELEBRATIONS have been held at Aberystwyth’s two day centres.

Visitors were given a tour of the centre at Hafan y Waun Care Home by home manager Mandy Pilcher and staff, as well as being treated to mince pies, shortbread, mulled wine and tea.

MHA, who run the home, said the new centre will open for business in January - and that the open day was a “great success.”

The new day centre will offer access to a hairdresser, chiropodist and external health professionals, along with other services to help users stay independent for longer, MHA said.

The move follows news, revealed by the Cambrian News, that the future of the Aberystwyth day centre in the basement of the Town Hall is uncertain after Ceredigion council confirmed it would form part of a review next year.
