CEREDIGION has the second lowest total of confirmed coronavirus cases in Wales.

There were two new confirmed cases in the county yesterday (Friday), bringing the total of reported and confirmed cases to 26. Only Anglesey has fewer confirmed cases, at 18.

Friday’s figures released by Public Health Wales showed 16 new cases in Carmarthenshire, 10 in Pembrokeshire, 7 in Powys and 3 in Gwynedd.

This means Carmarthenshire now has 209 confirmed cases, 79 in Pembrokeshire, 69 in Powys and 37 in Gwynedd.

The hardest-hit area in Wales so far is Cardiff, with 875 cases.

The true number of cases in the community are thought to be far higher, as only patients in hospital are tested.

The figures come as authorities are urging people to stay at home over the warm bank holiday.
