Seventeen Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded across Wales today – with four in the Hywel Dda region.

Latest figures released this lunchtime by Public Health Wales show that 2,799 new cases have been recorded today.

Of those new cases, 44 have been in Ceredigion, with Carmarthenshire recording 141 new cases and Pembrokeshire, 123.

Powys has recorded 126 new cases, with Gwynedd recording 97.

The 17 deaths recorded today take the total number of suspected Covid-19 deaths in Wales to 6,201 since the start of the pandemic.

Of those deaths, four have come in the Hywel Dda Health Board region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, taking the total number of deaths to 576.

One death has been recorded in Powys, taking the total to 78.

No new deaths have been recorded in the Betsi Cadwaladr region of north Wales, with the total number of suspected Covid-19 fatalities remaining at 1,074.
