Two new Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded in Wales today, according to the latest figures released this afternoon.

2,727 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded nationwide, according to the latest data from Public Health Wales, with the rate of infection across the country now standing at 582.0 cases per 100,000 population.

Gwynedd has recorded 102 cases today with 62 in Powys.

Ceredigion has recorded 39 new cases, which is the lowest number of new cases for a county today.

Carmarthenshire recorded with 165 new cases with 86 recorded in Pembrokesire.

Two new deaths in Wales today take the total number of suspected Covid-19 fatalities since the start of the pandemic to 5,839, with 509 deaths in the Hywel Dda region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

Betsi Cadwaladr in North Wales has recorded 1,028 deaths and Powys has recorded 68.
