A total of 941 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Wales today, according to the latest Public Health Wales figures.

One new Covid-related death has been recorded, meaning the total death toll since the start of the pandemic is 5,590.

In the Hywel Dda Health Board area, 21 cases were reported in Carmarthenshire, 25 in Pembrokeshire and 13 in Ceredigion.

In Gwynedd, 11 new cases have been recorded, while Powys has reported 33.

The national rate of infection in Wales, which is taken from a rolling seven-day period, today covering 10 July to 16 July, stands at 190.1 cases per 100,000 population.

The rate in Powys is higher however, as it currently stands at 240.1.

The rate is lower than the national average in Ceredigion (108.7), Pembrokeshire (106.5), Carmarthenshire (93.8) and Gwynedd (120.4).

As of the week ending 11 July, 503,089 doses of vaccine has been administered by Hywel Dda, 889,116 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board in the north, and 189,643 by Powys Teaching Health Board.
