Following news on Wednesday of a Covid-19 outbreak at Cake Crew in Bala, the county has recorded nine new cases today with Gwynedd’s Incident Management Team saying that 42 cases of coronavirus have been linked to the bakery, which employs around 330 people.
Elsewhere, Ceredigion has recorded one new case today along with Pembrokeshire.
Five new cases have been recorded in Powys and in Carmarthenshire.
63 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Wales today with the rate of infection nationwide currently standing at 14.6 cases per 100,000 population.
One new death has been recorded today taking the total number of Covid-19 related deaths in Wales to 5,543 since the pandemic began.
Over half of the population of Ceredigion has received its first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine according to Hywel Dda Health Board.
37,995 people have received the first dose of the vaccine up to 21 April according to data released by the health board, which equates to 52.3 per cent of the total population of Ceredigion.
16.2 per cent of people, 11,741 have received both doses, meaning they are fully vaccinated.
Elsewhere, Carmarthenshire has given the first jab to 98,973 people and the second dose to 31,588 people, meaning 16.7 per cent of the population is fully vaccinated. and Pembrokeshire has administered first jabs to 68,722 people and a second dose to 20,744, meaning 16.4 per cent of people are fully vaccinated.
In Gwynedd, 89,067 doses of the vaccine have been administered to date with Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board reporting that across North Wales 375,467 first dose have been administered and 151,810 second doses.
Powys Health Board has so far delivered over 124,000 vaccine doses through the Powys Teaching Health Board Covid-19 vaccination programme.
This includes over 88,200 first doses and over 36,100 second doses.
