Wales has recorded four new deaths from coronavirus today with over 1,300 new cases nationwide.
Latest figures, released this lunchtime by Public Health Wales, show that 1,373 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Wales with the rate of infection nationwide on an upward trend.
Ceredigion recorded 17 new cases today with neighbouring Carmarthenshire recording 63 new cases and Pembrokeshire, 64.
Powys has recorded 44 new cases of coronavirus today and Gwynedd, 49.
The highest daily number of new cases are found in South Wales with Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Swansea all recording over 100 cases today.
The four new deaths recorded today take the total number of Covid-19 related fatalities to 5,645 with 490 recorded in the Hywel Dda region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire; 970 deaths in Betsi Cadwaladr in north Wales and 66 in Powys.
The Office for National Statistics says the number of fatalities from coronavirus in Wales is much higher however.
The ONS has recorded every death certificate that mentions Covid-19 and says 748 deaths have been registered in Hywel Dda with 1,424 in Betsi Cadwaladr and 272 in Powys.
