No new Covid-related deaths have been reported in the latest figures released by Public Health Wales this lunchtime.

The total number of deaths in the country remains at 5,557, while 22 new cases were recorded today, taking the overall tally to 211,983.

No new cases have been reported in Ceredigion, Powys or Pembrokeshire, while just one was recorded in Carmarthenshire.

Gwynedd has recorded three new cases.

According to Public Health Wales, 1,961,670 people in Wales have received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, and 863,469 have also had their second dose.

As of the week ending 2 May, 320,472 vaccines had been administered by Hywel Dda Health Board, 134,777 by Powys Teaching Health Board, and 597,101 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board which covers Gwynedd.

Giving Public Health Wales’ daily statement, incident director Dr Robin Howe said: “Welsh Government has announced that from Monday, 17 May, up to six people from six households will be able to meet in indoor regulated settings, such as cafes, pubs and restaurants.

“From Friday, 14 May, Public Health Wales will no longer be publishing a daily statement each day. The last statement will be published on Thursday, 13 May.

“These changes will not affect our surveillance dashboard, which will continue to report six days a week. Our social media posts announcing case numbers and deaths will also continue.”
