No new Covid-related deaths have been reported in the latest figures released by Public Health Wales this lunchtime.

The total number of deaths in the country remains at 5,558, while 54 new cases were recorded today, taking the overall tally to 212,095.

No new cases have been reported in Ceredigion.

Elsewhere in the Hywel Dda region, there were two new cases in both Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

In Powys there was an additional case recorded, as was the case in Gwynedd.

According to Public Health Wales, 1,990,783 people in Wales have received a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, and 891,569 have also had their second dose.

As of the week ending 9 May, 339,308 vaccines had been administered by Hywel Dda Health Board, 141,763 by Powys Teaching Health Board, and 631,925 by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board which covers Gwynedd.
