OVER 4,000 new cases and 13 deaths have been recorded across Wales according to the latest coronavirus figures.
Figures released this lunch time by Public Health Wales show the rate of infection across Wales has risen again and now stands at 651.9 cases per 100,000 population.
4,240 new cases have been recorded nationwide today, with 106 cases in Ceredigion.
Carmarthenshire has recorded 163 cases today with Pembrokeshire recording 193.
Powys has recorded 173 cases today with Gwynedd recording 134.
Three of the 13 Covid-19 related deaths in Wales today have come in the Hywel Dda region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, taking the total number of coronavirus deaths in the area to 549.
Four deaths have been recorded in Betsi Cadwaldr Health Board’s region of north Wales, taking its total to 1,062.
No new deaths have been recorded in Powys, with the death toll remaining at 76.
The latest rolling seven-day figures for infection, which cover 10-16 October, show that Harlech and Llanbedr has the highest rate in west Wales, standing at 1,127.2 cases per 100,000 population, nearly twice the national average.
The Rheidol, Ystwyth and Caron has Ceredigion’s highest rate at 519.7 cases per 100,000 population.
