A doll’s house built by Llanbedrog retired chiropodist Ron Hinchcliffe has been won in a raffle at Hafod Hedd, the Dementia Day Care Unit in Y Ffôr.

The raffle was sold at Ysbyty Bryn Beryl, Hafod Hedd and, for one day, at the Nefyn Show, making £345 with all the money donated to Hafod Hedd to help with their day-to-day running costs.

The raffle was drawn by Joan Parker (who attends the day centre at Hafod Hedd) and the winning ticket belonged to Meryl Davies, Nyffryn, Dinas who was the Sister on Dwyfor Ward at Bryn Beryl before retiring.

Support worker Donna Jones took charge of the raffle and thanked Mr Hinchcliffe, everybody who helped to sell tickets, the Nefyn Show organisers for allowing her to attend the show with the doll’s house, and everybody who bought tickets.

The next fundraising event Donna is organising with the help of others is the second Memory Walk in Pwllheli which will be held on 7 September and promises to be bigger and better than last year’s first Memory Walk.
