PATIENTS of a Lampeter medical surgery have been assured that access will be maintained when road resurfacing work begins in the town next week.
Roadworks are set to start on Bridge Street at 9am on Monday, 22 February, and last for more than two weeks as the county council announced it is to carry out urgent resurfacing work on the road.
In a flyer sent out this week, officials at Lampeter Medical Centre, located at the Taliesin Surgery on Bridge Street, said that temporary traffic lights will be in place for the first week, followed by a closure of the road outside the centre for the second week, and again for the Monday and Tuesday of the week commencing 7 March.
Access to the surgery car park during the second week will be maintained, although patients are asked to expect delays because of the controls in place, and on Monday and Tuesday, 7 and 8 March, access to the car park will only be maintained for emergency and disabled appointments.
Following concerns about access to the Lampeter Medical Centre, Cllr Hag Harris said he was “satisfied” sufficient arrangements had been put in place to mitigate the road works, and emphasised the need for the resurfacing work to be done.
