TREGARON’S joint health and social care scheme has hit another “key milestone” after Ceredigion council and Hywel Dda health board announced a delivery partner for the project.
Following an open tender process, Mid Wales Housing Association has been successful in being awarded the contract for the delivery of the Cylch Caron project.
Ceredigion council and the Hywel Dda health board think the scheme could be “the first of several phases of new provision of housing and services for older people and other people with care needs in Tregaron”, and it is likely the winning delivery partner tender for the £6m project included plans to redevelop existing buildings.
Rebecca Evans AM, minister for social services and public health, said: “The appointment of Mid Wales Housing Association as the Delivery Partner for Cylch Caron is another important step forward in the development of this innovative centre. Cylch Caron will bring health, social care and housing together under one roof.
“In keeping with the principle of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, these services will place prevention and early intervention at the heart of everything they do, helping people to stay well and live independently.”
Ceredigion council leader, Cllr Ellen ap Gwynn said: “We are very pleased to welcome Mid Wales Housing Association as the delivery partner for Cylch Caron."
