A MUM will take on a charity swimming challenge this summer to raise money for a Bronglais Hospital ward which gave “out-of-this-world” treatment to her daughter who broke her neck in a pool accident in Clarach.
Milly Llewellyn-Charlton fractured her neck and moved three discs after diving into a pool at Glan y Môr Leisure Centre and landing on her head while on holiday last October.
Milly, 12, is making a good recovery but still continues to attend hospital every two weeks, and her mum Donna Llewellyn has pledged to take on a 1.7 mile swim from Clarach to Aberystwyth over the school summer holidays to raise money for the Angharad ward at Bronglais Hospital which gave her daughter “excellent care”.
“The care we were given while we were there was out of this world, we couldn’t ask for anything better," she said.
“Now it’s my time to thank them for all their hard work so I will be doing a swim from Clarach to Aberystwyth.
“All the money raised will go to Angharad ward in Bronglais.”
