There have been no new confirmed cases of Covid reported in Ceredigion or Powys today - but Carmarthenshire has three new cases, and one new case is reported in both Gwynedd and Pembrokeshire.

The total number of recorded cases across the pandemic for Ceredigion remains by far the lowest in Wales, at 58. Carmarthenshire has had 776 cases and Powys has had 301. Pembrokeshire’s one new case brings its tally to 286.

In the north, Gwynedd recorded one new case today, bringing its total to 543.

There have been 32 new cases reported today (Wednesday) in Wales as a whole, and another six deaths with Covid.

Dr Giri Shankar, incident director for the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “It is timely to remind everyone that we all have a vital role in preventing the spread of coronavirus by always sticking to social distancing guidelines – that’s staying two metres away from others and washing hands regularly.

“Public Health Wales welcomes the relaxation of lockdown measures, but reminds the public that we are not yet back to business as usual.

“We would urge members of the public to continue to stay local and avoid visiting locations, such as beaches, where proper social distancing is impossible to achieve."
