OVER 20 Covid-related deaths were recorded in Wales over the weekend according to the latest data.
Figures released this lunchtime by Public Health Wales, which cover a 48 hour period up to 9am on Sunday, show that 21 suspected Covid-19 deaths were recorded in Wales over that time with 4,308 new cases of the virus nationwide.
Ceredigion recorded 71 new cases over that 48 hour period with Carmarthenshire recording 341 new cases and Pembrokeshire recording 103.
The latest recorded deaths take the number of coronavirus related fatalities in the Hywel Dda region of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire to 500.
1,006 deaths have been recorded in the Betsi Cadwaladr region of north Wales with 68 in Powys.
5,755 deaths have been recorded across Wales since the start of the pandemic.
