Fundraisers have presented £1,300 to Bronglais Hospital’s oncology ward after holding a fundraiser in memory of an Aberystwyth woman who battled against cancer.

Gail Davies died in October 2018 aged 56, after battling cancer for around seven years.

Her husband Paul and friends organised a fundraising disco in August to help pay tribute to Gail and raise money for the oncology department.

Paul and friends who helped organise the event have now presented the money raised to the hospital.

Paul said: “I’m very pleased with the support and the amount that was raised.”

Speaking before the fundraiser, Paul said that the event was a chance to both pay tribute to Gail and raise money for the oncology ward.

He said: “It’s a tribute to Gail.

“We raised this idea for the past few months to repay the ward a bit for the treatment they provided.

“They’ve been absolutely fantastic.

“We’re just trying to give a little bit back.”
