POTENTIAL patients in the north of Meirionnydd have been invited to see plans for the controversial new £3.9million Canolfan Goffa Ffestiniog today (Thursday).

Members of the public can find out about the range of services that will be available at Blaenau Ffestiniog’s new Health Resource Centre when it opens next year.

The health care centre has been at the heart of much discussion, particularly from the Ffestiniog Memorial Hospital Defence Committee, following the retraction of inpatient beds from the area in 2013.

However, from Summer 2017 onwards, facilities at Canolfan Goffa Ffestiniog will include a state-of-the-art GP Practice, a new multipurpose Outpatient suite, enhanced Dementia and Children’s services, as well as access to social care and voluntary services.

The drop-in session, to be held on Thursday, 29 September at Y Ganolfan, will be an opportunity for the residents of Blaenau Ffestiniog to see first-hand the plans for the new facility and to talk about the services available there.

The event will run between 2pm and 7pm.
