Penglais School in Aberystwyth has presented a £1,000 cheque to Dyfi Ward Cardiac Unit at Bronglais Hospital in memory of Cllr Paul James.
Cllr James was a governor at the school and parent of sixth-form pupil Rhodri James.
The school raised the money raised by holding an own clothes day and other events.
Rhodri presented the cheque, with headteacher Mair Hughes and head of sixth-form Jan Elgood, to Dr Donough McKeogh.
