STUDENTS in a Dolgellau college are enjoying a new healthcare programme.
A collaboration between Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and the Independent Living Skills department of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor in Dolgellau has seen a number of students from the Foundation course complete the Healthy Heart programme developed by the British Heart Foundation.
The programme, which is part of the ongoing Health Promotion Hub project has covered a variety of health-related issues ranging from eating the right nutrients to increasing physical activity.
Anne Thomas, staff nurse at the Dolgellau outpatients’ department, added: “The outpatients’ department at Dolgellau Hospital has developed as a health promotion hub aimed at encouraging health and well-being within our local community. Visiting places like the college is seen as a vital part of our outreach work.”
